China is an integral part of Australian history and cultural identity from the Gold Rush to today.
Asia generally is more present in the Australian imagination than ever before, in particular in the arts,
as we respond to new technological opportunities to make connections in our region, opening up opportunites
to exchange ideas and engage in new dialogues.
My curatorial work in particular reflects this and has been part of this dialogue.
As an artist the strong red elements and interest in text as image give my work an immediate link to Chinese art.
